The Holidays!

This month, my favorite place in the 515 is home. Home is my place of comfort and joy and yes, that includes the two homes I own, but home is where my people are. And I am lucky that my physical and people homes are in sync.

When I’m not at home with my people, I love this time of year in Des Moines. I have a short list of DSM based holiday goals for this month.

  1. Get Adam on ice skates at Brenton Skating. Plaza on a Promenade Friday or to see the Nutcracker. Stay tuned to see if I pull one of these off.

  2. See Dome for the Holidays at the Botanical Garden. It looks stunning every evening an it’s warm as well-a perfect way to embrace the season without the weather.

  3. Catch the Christkindlmarket at Principal Park.

  4. Enjoy the Holly and Ivy event at the Salisbury House.

I had to miss a few meetups in November due to the crud that was going around. I think all of us had it at some point and I’m glad that’s over. If you want to catch up, let’s have coffee. Tis the season!

Amy’s Corner - Holiday Parties and Joy!

November kicked off the holiday hustle and bustle! Meghan and I joined forces with 20 other local businesses for Uptown Ankeny's Champagne & Mistletoe extravaganza. We transformed our Realty ONE Group Impact office into a festive fiesta, welcoming over 400 guests to our Margarita & Mistletoe soiree. Our signature mistletoe margaritas and cherry pomegranate mimosas were a hit. We partnered with other Ankeny businesses to shower our guests with amazing giveaways - congratulations to each and every winner. It was a holly, jolly good time!"

The simplest recipe was the hit of the party - Cherry Pomegranate Mimosas!

Simple proportions: 1 can of Shirley Temple 7 Up per bottle of champagne. Add cranberries and a sprig of rosemary for garnish. Cheers!
